Pin Cotter
We are offering a comprehensive range of cotter pins from mild steel, brass, stainless steel as per material grade,& copper, The cotter pins are manufactured as per ISO1234, Din 94, Indian standard 549 and BS 1574, the specification followed is given below along with the testing methods and measurement. The materials are quality tested before the its delivery.
Normal length (L): The nominal length is the distance from underside of the eye to the extreme end of the short leg.
Nominal size: The nominal size is the diameter of the hole for the receiving the split pins.
Material: Unless otherwise specified, split pins shall be manufactured from half round steel wires of the specified material
Finish: Split pins shall be supplied with bright self-colour finish unless otherwise specified by the purchaser. The end of each leg shall be beveled and shall be free from burrs
Designation: A split pin shall be designated by the nominal size, nominal length, the number of this standard and material (for other than steel only.)
- Example 1: A split of nominal seize 5, nominal length 50mm and made of steel shall be designated as : Split pin 5 X 50 IS : 549
- Example 2: A split pin of nominal size 10, nominal length 80mm and made of brass shall be designated as: Split Pin 10 X 80 IS: 549 Brass.
Sampling: Sampling and acceptance criteria shall conform to IS : 6821-1973 Methods for sampling non threaded fasteners.
Test: The samples selected for test, when cold shall permit half the length of the both the legs being best back through 180 and closed flat upon themselves without showing any sign of fracture.
